So what is all this then?

Religiously inclined people love to claim that Atheism is a religion. It's not, of course. The whole point of Atheism is that you do not believe in any deities and that belief is pretty much a requirement to be considered a religion. Do some Atheists get together on set days? Sure; so do bowling teams, book clubs, and PTAs.

Some people believe that Atheism is some sort of belief system. That is wrong. An Atheist does not disbelieve in gods, an atheist lacks a belief in gods. Just like a person does not actively disbelieve in leprechauns. Atheists don't need to let theists define them.
